The Cancer Registry will serve a key role in identifying and characterizing cancer disparities in the multiethnic populations of Guam and Hawai‘i. The overall objective is to provide key infrastructure support for cancer research and outreach activities of the Pacific Island Partnership for Cancer Health Equity (PIPCHE).
Provide cancer data and related support for PIPCHE research projects (full and pilot) and outreach activities.
Build capacity for cancer surveillance and health disparities research at the University of Guam (UOG) and the University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center (UHCC). This alignment will allow for a synergy and sharing of data that would not be possible otherwise.
Project Leads:
Rachael Leon Guerrero, PhD
Brenda Hernandez, PhD, MPH.
The Research Education Core (REC) of the Pacific Island Partnership for Cancer Health Equity (PICPHE) addresses the need for trained researchers in Guam, Micronesia, and Hawai’i with expertise in cancer health disparities.
